Fourway's systems are comprehensive and practical, covering health & safety, environment and quality assurance.
The systems are documented in a series of manuals, which are supported by additional procedures and work instructions. Emphasis is made on clarity of instruction and responsibilities, an important aspect being to ensure prompt and efficient compliance with new legislation.
The management systems are regularly reviewed by senior management, and updated to reflect changes in the company, client requirements or legislation. During this process, quantitative targets and objectives are also established and reviewed. Progress against targets and objectives, significant non-conformance, accidents and incidents are reported to the board of directors at monthly board meetings.
Regular internal auditing is carried out to ensure systems are adequate and operating effectively. Clients are also encouraged to audit, with comments being welcomed.
The management systems are implemented via a process of ongoing dissemination to staff. Staff feedback is encouraged in all parts of the process, and facilitated by senior management.
The company recognises the hazards of working on operational railways are considerable, and is committed to ensuring a safe working environment for all employees, subcontractors, customers, other contractors and the travelling public.
