Silwood Sidings is a Rail for London project, part of the London Overground Capacity Improvement Programme (LOCIP) essential for meeting the commitment made by London Mayor to have 5- car trains running on London Overground by the end of 2014.

In collaboration with Cleshar and T. Clarke Fourway delivered a package of LV distribution, trackside lighting and SISS. These important works increase the capability of the Silwood Sidings site in South East London as an operational railway facility for the stabling of ten 5-car train units. The site is 3.36 hectares (about 3 football pitches) of which 1.5 hectares is occupied by the stabling sidings and associated access facilities alone.

A key part of the project was close liaison with the civil works to ensure duct routes and access pits were properly co-ordinated.

Our package value was in the region of £2M and the works were completed under tight timescales with go-live date of August 2014.
